Motherhood photography project

I don’t know if you’ve heard, but I’ve started a new personal photography project about motherhood. It doesn’t have a title yet, and I don’t expect it to for a while!

Why motherhood? It’s such a vast and deeply personal subject, full of emotions, experiences, and stories. I have so many things to say about it—and I’m sure you do too. After a lot of reflection and with the help of a mentor, I’ve narrowed the focus down to “changes”.

My goal is to highlight the profound transformations women experience as they become mothers and journey through motherhood. From physical and emotional changes to psychological and environmental shifts, it’s a celebration of the beauty, strength and resilience of mothers.

I have big dreams for this motherhood photography project. I envision an engaging and interactive exhibition that blends photography, graphic design, and storytelling—maybe even other forms of art. I want to experiment and try new things. So far, the photos I’ve taken mix my usual documentary style with some experimental and conceptual ideas. Each one is designed to tell a layered and meaningful story.

And did I mention a book might come out of this? I love the idea of creating something lasting—a tangible keepsake that complements the more fleeting experience of an exhibition.

Ultimately, I want this motherhood photography project to be enriching for everyone involved—participants and the public alike. It’s an invitation to reflect, connect, and share. For mothers, it’s a way to see that they’re not alone, that others feel the same, and that their strength deserves recognition. For the wider world, it’s an opportunity to understand the immense changes women go through and the power they hold.

Seeking participants

I’m actively looking for participants who are open to sharing their stories, connecting with others, and shining a light on both the joys and challenges of motherhood.

Whether you’re a mother-to-be, a mother, or even a grandmother, I’d love to hear your story!

If you’re interested, simply fill out this short questionnaire to tell me a bit about yourself and why you’d like to participate. From there, we can plan a possible interview and photo session.

Let’s share these stories together!
