Celebrating the best of motherhood in Edmonton
To all you mothers out there, whether you live in Edmonton, Sherwood Park, Fort Saskatchewan, Beaumont, Spruce Grove, Stony Plain or elsewhere in the world… I hope you know how awesome you are! Have you ever thought about celebrating the best and most precious moments of your motherhood journey with a photography experience tailored to your unique needs and desires?
I remember sitting at the computer one night with my tiny premature daughter lying on my chest. I was leaning back on my chair and she was tied to me with my bathrobe’s soft belt. Feeling her warm body curled up in a little ball against me, smelling and rubbing my nose in the softest hair I’ve ever felt, touching that small being I had grown inside my body for seven and a half months… I was in awe. I just couldn’t believe I had made that little person! (Two little people at the same time, as a matter of fact!)
How amazing are our bodies?!
Seriously! To create such intricate and functioning little beings. Individuals that will grow and learn to be their own selves.
That night, I truly understood the miracle of life.
How do you see motherhood?
I love this quote by my dear friend Deanna:
Motherhood is experienced individually, there are so many contexts of mothering, but I think the binding element is that it’s about connection. A connection that is fragile and strong, it’s there no matter how you treat it but it’s most powerful when you treat it with care, endurance, patience, forgiveness, and laughter.
Deanna, mother of two
The moment you became a mother, you became someone’s superhero, a multitasker, a problem-solver, a comforter. You learned to love unconditionally, to put others’ needs first.
How often have you neglected to put on your make-up in the morning, thinking it would be quicker to go to bed at night without having to remove it?
Do you recall the number of cold coffees and meals you’ve had because you were feeding little mouths first?
How many ladies’ nights have you missed to finish the tasks you couldn’t work on during the day because you were playing, entertaining and caring for your little one?
Can you remember how many times you’ve gone to bed exhausted only to wake up at 2 am to wipe a runny little nose and soothe an inconsolable child?
When you became a mother, your entire world changed. You might not always recognize the person you used to be, but how much have you grown as a person! You’re giving your best, loving, caring, learning alongside your learning child, improving day in and day out, making mistakes and finding ways to make things better and become a better person. You’re strong and resourceful.
Mother, do you know how remarkable you are?
