5 reasons to print your photos
Our children are by far the most photographed of all generations. But how often do they see printed photos of themselves? With the ease and prevalence of digital photography, printed photos have almost become a thing of the past—and they shouldn’t! Let me give you 5 good reasons to print your photos!
1. Technology evolves and fails
Technology changes so fast nowadays you can barely keep up…
Have you ever listened to music on a tape cassette?
Do you remember VHS and Beta video players?
How often do you play music on a CD or watch a movie on DVD or BluRay?
Does your laptop computer even have a DVD player?
File types, storage solutions, applications… They all eventually change whether we like it or not.
Some of the programs I worked with to design brochures while I was learning graphic design in college have completely disappeared and there’s no way for me to open the files.
Hard drives crash, phones break, backups accidentally get deleted…
All this to say that if you print some of your favourite photos, you’re more likely to see them and be able to share them with loved ones 30 years down the road.
2. There’s something about printed photos digitals don’t have
I don’t know if it’s because you can hold them or touch them, but it seems to me that printed photos have something more than digitals. They’re real, they’re not consumed as fast. It’s like they have a different presence, a permanence to them. Yes—they’re here to last.
They also have more impact. Again, is it because they’re tangible, because of their size? I don’t know, there’s just something…
3. Printed photos enhance your home decor
Quality wall art can truly enhance a room and give it a personal touch.
Display large portraits of your children in the living room, create a gallery wall of the best images of a day in your life, hang a collection of small photos showcasing each family member’s personality, leave a beautiful photo book on your coffee table for anyone to flip through… The possibilities are endless!
As a side note, when you hire me for family photos, not only can I get your photos professionally printed and framed, I can also assist you with design suggestions and installation services. We can talk about it during your free initial consultation or at your ordering appointment.
4. Printed photos remind you daily of what you love the most in your life
Because printed photos are meant to last longer than their digital counterpart, the ones you choose to print will always hold a special place in your heart. Whether it be the people you love, the moments you share together, the places that inspire you… Your printed photos will remind you daily of what you love the most in your life. They’ll give you a chance to look at them, enjoy them, cherish them and love them even more every day!
5. Printed photos boost your child’s self-esteem
I’ve mentioned this in a previous post. Studies have shown that children who regularly see printed photos of themselves and their family have a higher self-image and self-condidence. They know they are loved and cared for.
Wouldn’t you agree that this is a great gift for your children?
