Life in a Morning photography exhibition—66 years old
Part 10 of 12
My bilingual Life in a Morning exhibition presents 104 black and white photographs with written blurbs about the morning routine of 12 girls and women aged 0 to 102 years old. It shows the differences and similarities between the routine of each person depending on their age, status and occupation. It’s a representation of how life evolves in a morning and how certain habits remain throughout life.
I wrote the blurbs as if the person I photographed was talking. Here’s the story of a 66-year-old woman.

Mon exposition bilingue La vie en un matin présente 104 photographies en noir et blanc accompagnées de textes descriptifs à propos de la routine matinale de 12 filles et femmes âgées de 0 à 102 ans. On y découvre les différences et les ressemblances entre la routine de chaque personne selon son âge, sa situation familiale et son emploi du temps. On voit comment la vie évolue en un matin et comment certaines habitudes demeurent tout au long de l’existence.
J’ai écrit les textes comme si c’était la personne que j’ai photographiée qui parlait. Voici l’histoire d’une femme de 66 ans.
66 years old / 66 ans
I like to have my coffee and spend a bit of time on my tablet before getting ready for the day. You’d think a retired person would take it easy in the morning, but with the new puppy we recently welcomed home, it feels like I’m raising a toddler once again! Every part of my routine is interrupted by my potty training furry friend! It’s like a full-time job—at least it keeps me active.
J’aime prendre mon café et passer un peu de temps sur ma tablette avant de me préparer pour la journée. On s’imagine sûrement qu’une personne à la retraite se la coule douce le matin, mais avec le nouveau chiot que nous avons récemment accueilli à la maison, c’est comme si j’étais redevenue le parent d’un enfant en bas âge! Chaque partie de ma routine est interrompue par mon amie poilue que j’entraine à la propreté! C’est un emploi à temps plein — heureusement que ça me garde active.
