Part 2 of 12

My bilingual Life in a Morning exhibition presents 104 black and white photographs with written blurbs about the morning routine of 12 girls and women aged 0 to 102 years old. It shows the differences and similarities between the routine of each person depending on their age, status and occupation. It’s a representation of how life evolves in a morning and how certain habits remain throughout life.

I wrote the blurbs as if the person I photographed was talking. Here’s a 1-year-old girl’s story.

Sleeping with my mother is convenient and I love waking up beside her. I’m slowly discovering life and I’ve started to develop my own personality. I can be a bit grumpy in the morning and I’m happy to say ‘no’ whenever I feel like it. Every member of my family is quite understanding and likes to entertain me. I have to admit their life revolves around mine more often than not. What can I say? I’m not independent enough to do everything on my own!
