I’m excited to announce that Life in a Morning is on the move once more, this time all the way to Lac-Etchemin, Québec! From March to September 2025, Centre d’arts Moulin La Lorraine will host my photography exhibition and I couldn’t be more thrilled. It’s a wonderful opportunity to bring my project to the other side of the country and, for the first time, back to my native province.

I can’t wait to see friends, family, and meet new faces at the opening reception on March 15. The venue is so charming! Moulin La Lorraine offers a setting that blends art, history and nature in a way that feels like the perfect complement to my work.

Housed in the Salle des courroies, a room rich in history, my exhibition will be deeply connected to the legacy of the mill itself, which dates back to 1860. Though the mill has been partially rebuilt and renovated, parts of its original foundations remain intact, preserving its historic role in transforming wheat into flour for over a century. This space feels like a natural fit for Life in a Morning, which portrays the morning routine of women and girls at different stages of life, from infancy to 102 years old. The historical atmosphere lends depth to the stories my photographs seek to tell.

Centre d’art Moulin La Lorraine, a site to discover

Before this exhibition, I had never visited Lac-Etchemin, despite growing up in Québec. I travelled there with my family this summer, and the experience was a revelation. The beauty of the mill and its surroundings truly took me by surprise, with art seamlessly woven into the natural landscape. Sculptures and poetry adorn the wooded areas, complemented by a stream, vibrant flowers, and breathtaking views. It’s a space that invites creativity and discovery.

Centre d’art Moulin La Lorraine offers a wide range of activities, from art exhibitions and events to guided tours of the mill during the summer months. With its exhibition rooms, boutique, café, and public gardens, it caters to art enthusiasts, families, and schools alike. There’s truly something for everyone!
